༱ What is Birdnest and how does it taste ?
Edible bird's nest is a delicacy made from the hardened saliva of swiftlet birds. The birds use their saliva to build intricate nests, which are then sustainably harvested when vacated and processed safe for human consumption.
Often in soups or as a luxury food ingredient, the Edible bird's nest has a neutral flavor with a gelatinous, slightly chewy texture when cooked. It has the ability to absorb the flavors of the broth or ingredients it is cooked with such as rock sugar, herbs, or other flavors that complement its delicate taste.
